Illusion Carnival Walkthrough: All Puzzle Solutions

Illusion Carnival is a horror adventure game set in an eerie amusement park. The game features unique pop-up book style visuals with a creepy ambiance. As you explore different sections of the park, you will meet weird characters, complete quests, solve puzzles and fight anomalous dolls. Your objective is to find a way out of this strange amusement park. In this walkthrough, I have provided solutions for the main puzzles. Solving them will help you progress throughout the game.

Controls

You must use an Xbox One controller to play Illusion Carnival. It won’t be easy to play with keyboard controls. You can use a third-party controller, connect it with your PC vis Bluetooth and the game will recognize it as an Xbox Controller. I am using Gamesir X2 Bluetooth controller, and I had a great time playing with it.

The Dessert/Snacks Shop

Soon after the mind-bending roller-coaster ride ends, your next destination will be the Dessert shop. This is where you can buy sweets to restore spirit points. The spirit meter, serving as your HP bar, is displayed in the upper-left corner of the screen.

If it drops to zero, the game ends, and your character will resume from its last position. Restore spirit points to the max before starting a new mission. Those “Abnormal” enemies can quickly deplete character’s spirit.

To buy sweets at the Desserts Shop, you will need “Confettia Vouchers“. Find vouchers on certain lottery boxes scattered throughout the game. Pay attention to the symbols on the lottery boxes to find what prizes they hold.

A lottery box with a smiley symbol usually contains a free sweet. A box with a ticket symbol contains vouchers that can be used to purchase sweets at the snacks shop. Some lottery boxes with “?” mark contain random prizes. You may also find empty ones – they contain another lottery box inside – Boxception LOL!

Move near a lottery box with a symbol and press A to make the prize pop out, à la Jack in the Box. Don’t forget to press A again to obtain the prize.

Explore every nook and cranny in and around the Desserts Shop, opening all lottery boxes to collect the maximum number of vouchers and sweets. You will get 283 vouchers in this area and a few sweets.

Go to the desserts shop and spend 200 vouchers to purchase a Tangerine Cheeripop. A single cheeripop restores 10 spirit points.

There are three types of sweets served at the Dessert Shop:

Tangerine Cheeripop: Restores 10 spirit points. Costs 200 vouchers.

Pinky Jelly Drink: A pink beverage made entirely of jelly. Restores 20 spirit points. Costs 400 vouchers.

Marmalade Cake: Costs 600 vouchers but restores 30 spirit points.

The Wheel of Fortune

After opening all lottery boxes and purchasing spirit-restoring sweets, it’s time to head straight to the Wheel of Fortune (WoF). If you go straight up, past the dessert shop, you will find an entrance that leads to this attraction. All arrows will be pointing to the WoF. Move closer to an arrow and press A to learn more about it.

The Wheel of Fortune is an important stage in Illusion Carnival as it unlocks a unique teleporting lottery box. You must complete three challenges to get the teleporter.

Before entering, make sure you consume sweets to restore your spirit bar to the max. To do this, press R1 to open your backpack, choose a sweet and press A to eat it.

Once your conversation with Deliriini ends, lottery boxes start dropping on the floor. Open every lottery box to get vouchers and sweets.

Talk to the Wheel of Fortune. It has kept Demetria as hostage.

The WoF has three fun games for you. Beat them and you will be rewarded with tons of vouchers and Demetria will be freed. Lose and everyone will be smashed into Jam. Read and understand the rules of each game carefully before giving them a try.

Game #1: Dolls will be dropped on the floor. When a doll enters one of the light circles, catch them by shocking them with the Orikerd, a unique papercraft that bestows special attack powers.

Press and hold the R2 shoulder button on your controller to charge and unleash the Orikerd on dolls that enter a light circle. Capture 5 dolls in 40 seconds to win this game.

The light circles won’t come at you always. Move to a light circle and wait for the doll to enter the circle. Don’t press and hold the R2 button for too long. A short press and hold will easily let you catch a doll. Wait for two dolls to enter the circle at once and then use the orikerd to capture them.

I captured 6 dolls and got 480 vouchers as prize in the first game.

#Game 2: The Wheel of Fortune will give different orders. Complete them within a time limit. But there’s a twist – You will also have to disobey, i.e. do the opposite of what it orders when the light dims. If the light dims and it commands to move left, you will have move right. If it says stand still, keep running.

Complete 10 orders to get 1200 vouchers as rewards! Each order lasts 4 seconds, so pay close attention to the lights. If the light is on, follow the order; if it turns off, do the opposite. Stay sharp!

Game #3: This is one of the hardest challenges given by the WoF. Basically, it’s a hide-and seek game. Demetria will be hidden in one of the lottery boxes. Find her to win the last game. There’s no time limit, but you will be running in circles, literally, to find her. Also, beware of the abnormal. When light dims, they will show up. Use the Orikerd to fend them away.

Every time a new hide-and-seek game session starts, you will have face Abnormal enemies encircling your paper boat character. Face them for 10 seconds and use your Orikerd to fend them off before you start searching for Demetria in lottery boxes.

Before attempting the last game, you can take a break and purchase some soul-restoring sweets at the Desserts Shop. You will need them in this game.

Here’s a simple solution to find Demetria in Illusion of Carnival’s Wheel of Fortune level:

In the first few hide-and-seek sessions, begin by opening all the boxes to search for her. Although you won’t find her at first, once you come across Deliriini in one of the boxes, let the session end and start a new one. This time, head behind the Wheel of Fortune where you’ll discover a hidden lottery box. You’ll only see a star marking the box’s location since it’s tucked behind the Wheel of Fortune. Move closer to the star and press A to reveal Demetria in the box.

Once you find Demetria, the Wheel of Fortune will reward you a teleportation box. It can teleport you to somewhere else, if you feed it with a tiny gingerbread. The first teleport is free, but to progress, you must find a tiny gingerbread by solving puzzles and feed it to move to a new stage.

The Math Problem

Illusion Carnival’s next level, known as Toy Block, features a puzzle that will help you solve a simple math problem:

Move to the room on the left-hand side and pay attention to these two signboards and the symbol on the round rugs (carpet) underneath them:

These two signboards and the rugs under them are subtle hints to solve the math problem.

Go back to the main room and move to the rug with the diamond symbol. Count the number of round gift boxes above it.

In the same room, search for the rug with the star symbol and count the number of toy blocks.

Now go back to the room on the left-hand side and move closer to the math problem:

2 x ◆ + 3 x ★ = ?

The symbols are the same seen on the rugs and we have already counted the number of gift boxes and toy blocks on the diamond rug and star rug respectively.

The correct solution to the problem is:

2 x 4 + 3 x 3 = 17

Enter 1 and 7 in the answer boxes and get a gingerbread as reward. Use it to teleport to the next level.

How to Find the Candy

The candy puzzle can be quite frustrating. While a few clues will help you locate it, you might still feel a bit confused about its exact whereabouts. Fret not! I have the solution:

After being teleported from the math puzzle level, you will find yourself in a toy shop location with branching paths.

Choose the left path. Now move closer to the teddy bear’s head. Its head is ripped apart from the middle and it looks so scary! Talk to the head. It agrees to give you the much-needed gingerbread, but you will need to find a candy and give it to the teddy bear.

Return to the starting point and take the path on the right. Talk to three toys to obtain the clues:

1. Anonymous Toy on the lower-right corner: The candy is on a red square.

2. Bear on the lower-left corner: The candy is in the room on the left and it’s not behind the bear.

3. Duckling in the top-right corner: She gave the most important clue – The position of all objects in the right and left rooms are mirrored. On the left room, the position of the duckling was on the left. Taking the position of the duckling in the left room as a crucial hint, move three squares to the right and then go down to find the candy.

Follow the hints and move to the correct red square. Make sure you press the spacebar when you move to the square to find the candy. Finding it will trigger Demetria’s dialogue.

Give it to the not-so-cute teddy bear head and take the gingerbread. Use it to teleport to the next level.

Guess the Colors

Color of Emotion level

This is one of the simplest levels, with hints provided along the way—just identify the correct color. The color of the lighting in each room serves as a hint.

In all three rooms, answer this question.

First Room: BLACK

You will move to the next room. The hint is the lighting color.

Second Room: PINK

The next room is quite brightly lit, and you can clearly identify its color.

Third Room: Yellow

Get the gingerbread after answering the last question and use it to teleport to the next level.

Three Letter Puzzle

You will be teleported to a very familiar-looking room, but it looks shabby and very gloomy. The only way out of this is solve the “Write Down Three Letters” puzzle.

TL;DR: The answer is NOA.

To solve this puzzle, read the signboards:

The signboard on the left has a crossword puzzle with only one letter at the top – “P”.

In the crossword puzzle, starting from the letter P, enter the words PINK (Down), BLACK (Across) and Yellow (Down). You can write them down on a piece of paper.

The signboard on the right has a grid with numbers 1 on the first column, 2 on the fourth column and 3 on the third column.

The numbers 1, 2 and 3 on the left signboard provide key hints to find the three letters. These three numbers not only show the positions of the letters of the words, PINK, YELLOW and BLACK respectively in the crossword puzzle but also the correct order to write them.

1 is on the first column, third row. In the same column we wrote PINK in the crossword puzzle. Count the number of squares from the top to 1 in the crossword puzzle and you will get the first letter – N.

2 is on the fourth column, fifth row. In the same column is YELLOW on the crossword puzzle. Count the number of squares from the top to 2 and you will get the second letter – O in the crossword puzzle

3 is on row 4, column 3. In the same row, it’s BLACK. Count the squares from the fourth row until 3 and you get the third letter – A

Enter the three letters to complete the sentence. It is “DONT LOOK BACK”
